This year I helped the Hoag family organize NASCAR night. It was a success and looks to be real big next year.
Billy and his family (from MRO) came and enjoyed. BD drove in the drivers match race in 358 Modifieds. He finished second to David Reuttiman and beat Buzzie Reuttiman. Michael McDowell came out for us and we got him in a Mod too. He had a blast.
A bunch of us (crew guys, celebs n such) got to race Enduro cars on the dirt. Ol' MD started fourth behind Eagle. BD drove Eags to the cushion on the start which made his start very late. A few guys got by. Then I picked them off including BD on the outside to take the lead.
The funniest part was when EAgle was pulling off the track a few laps into the race. His wheel came off and was rolling next to me. I passed his wheel ... then him as he exited the track. Fun stuff.
Sara Jane came out and had fun as well as Leslie Brotherton and David Vaughn! Even Bruce Silver came to play.
I took the checkered flag and won. That was pretty cool...have raced a bunch but never really won anything. I've lost a lot of races I should have won by driving too hard and with my head up my proverbial butt! lol.
First time I beat my brother at anything really. That was cool. It was a Dillner one-two finish!

Oh what a night. Watkins Glen always means a great time because of Black Rock Speedway (Dirt Track in Dundee, NY).
Best part was raising money for Motor Racing Outreach. Their group means a lot to me. Their staff, especially Lonnie Clouse, have made a very big difference in my life and I am forever grateful for that. It was just a small way for us to all show our apprecaition for all they do.
